This past weekend played host to one of the most watched sporting events throughout the country, and boy did this one not disappoint.
Through a solid three-fourths of the game it looked like Atlanta was truly on their way to earning their second major sports championship. But looks can be deceiving, especially when Tom Brady is your quarterback.
The absurdity, which was the Patriots’ comeback, will forever go down as one of the greatest of all time. Keep in mind that about halfway through the third quarter, the Patriots were down by a whopping 25 points.
25 WHOLE POINTS.
The biggest deficit that was overcome in a Super Bowl?
Within the last 23-something minutes, Brady and head coach Bill Belichick somehow managed to put together 5 flawless scoring drives and a fierce defense scheme on the field.
However, it is worth noting that there was quite a bit of luck that played into this win, which first started with Atlanta’s numerous errors in those final minutes. Atlanta had scoring opportunities in these final minutes no less than three times.
And on top of that, the Patriots and Julian Edelman somehow got away with a play like this.
The whole ridiculousness of this game has still been difficult to process, but it ultimately just goes to show you about how crazy this game can be.
